Toward a New Regionalism: Environmental Architecture in the Pacific Northwest

I’ll admit that I initially mainly bought this book because of the great pictures of houses and buildings, but once I got into reading it, I discovered that the author has really done his homework. The book has a great explanation of the unique environment that inspires Pacific Northwest Regionalism, as well as the history of this architectural style, and the environmental challenges that architects are typically trying to address through their work.

I learned a lot about the historical roots and goals of Pacific Northwest Regionalism from this book, and would recommend it to anyone interested in the subject.

The book is written by Dave E. Miller from the Miller Hull architectural firm in Seattle.
